Electrum Laureate Portfolio aims to generate appropriate risk adjusted returns over medium to long term by investing in a diversified portfolio of equity shares of fundamentally strong listed businesses with a bias towards investing in small cap and mid cap companies. The strategy follows a bottoms up investing approach using a proprietary investment framework ELECT which evaluates excellent management pedigree, longevity and sustainability of business, capital efficiency and turnaround or value mispricing opportunities. The investment philosophy focuses on companies with scalable and sustainable growth, strong competitive advantage, good corporate governance, strong execution and financial discipline. The approach emphasizes bottom up research with focus on potential cash flow generation, clean balance sheets and businesses capable of becoming leaders in their respective sectors. The portfolio typically contains concentrated high conviction investments with disciplined position sizing where no stock exceeds around twelve percent and sector allocation remains diversified. The investment process involves quantitative and qualitative screening, fundamental analysis, management meetings and channel checks to identify long term compounders and contra opportunities. Past stock illustrations include companies such as Ion Exchange, Angel One and CG Power which represented opportunities arising from industry tailwinds, turnaround potential and valuation mispricing.
