Mr. Ajay Garg is the Director & CEO of the SMC Group. He is a merit holder and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). With over 27 years of rich experience in securities, commodities, and currency markets, he possesses deep expertise in the intricacies of the capital market. He heads the core businesses of broking and clearing services at SMC, along with overseeing NRI and FPI operations. He plays a key role in business development, risk management, technological advancement, brand building, and marketing across the Group. His strong belief in the power of technology has enabled SMC to expand significantly and build a robust network of brokers and sub-brokers. Through his focused approach toward delivering a superior user experience using innovative solutions, SMC has transformed trading into a convenient and efficient process. This is evident through proprietary tools and platforms such as Auto-Trender (an in-house research-based tool), SMC ACE (a mobile trading app), Algo Trader, a Robo-Advisory-enabled platform, and Portfolio Health Checker. Mr. Garg was awarded ET’s Most Promising Business Leader of Asia – 2019 at The Economic Times Asian Business Leaders Conclave in Singapore, a recognition that reflects his leadership excellence and forward-looking vision. He has also been recognized as one of the Top 10 Group CEOs of 2021 by CEO Insights Magazine. In addition, he was honored as Entrepreneur of the Year (Innovation in Financial Services) by Times Now & Franchise India in 2015. He also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Commodity Participants Association of India (CPAI).
